Photonics for the stratification of retinoblastoma patients
Researchers and investigators from the ICFO and the Sant Joan de Déu Research Institute are participating in a joint project that aims to use Raman microscopy to evaluate ex-vivo the different types of cells that conforms the tumor and identify the degree of differentiation, as well as to analyze the ocular structures infiltrated by retinoblastoma. The final objective is to provide the clinical staff with tools for a better evaluation of the risk of metastasis in each boy and girl suffering from this malignancy.
