LeucoCheck Featured on La Porteria and in Mirades Magazine (06/07/2026)

This month, the Fundació La Nineta dels Ulls had the opportunity to showcase LeucoCheck, our innovative project for the early detection of retinoblastoma, through two platforms focused on technology with a social impact.

Carme Julià, President of the Foundation, took part in the final episode of the season of La Porteria, where she explained the purpose and operation of LeucoCheck, a mobile application powered by artificial intelligence that automatically detects leukocoria, one of the main warning signs of retinoblastoma.

During the interview, she highlighted the importance of early diagnosis, as it can make the difference between preserving vision, saving the eye, and, in many cases, saving a child’s life.

LeucoCheck is also featured in issue 14 of Mirades Magazine, dedicated to digital technology and human rights. In her article, Carme Julià explores the development of the application and its potential to make early diagnosis more accessible, especially in low-resource settings.

The application is currently being tested in both Catalonia and Mozambique, an essential step in validating this technology before making it widely available to healthcare professionals and families around the world.

We remain committed to harnessing technology to improve the early detection of retinoblastoma and provide more children with the opportunity for a healthier future.
