Fundació La Nineta dels Ulls has received a very special donation from Aenar – Miradas Mágicas, contributing €22,000 to support the liquid biopsy project for the early detection of secondary tumors in retinoblastoma patients.
This contribution represents a significant boost to a key research line aimed at improving monitoring and early detection of potential new tumors in children who have had retinoblastoma. The liquid biopsy project is an innovative approach within personalized medicine, enabling the analysis of biomarkers through non-invasive samples.
The project is currently in the sample collection and analysis phase and is in the process of expanding to hospitals outside Spain, with the goal of increasing the dataset and strengthening the validity of the results.
The Foundation highly values this collaboration, as it directly contributes to advancing research and creating new opportunities to improve patients’ quality of life.
Initiatives like this help move forward towards earlier detection, better prognosis, and more personalized care for children affected by retinoblastoma.
